Sponsored Cycle Ride from London to Amsterdam
The Worshipful Company of Constructors is organising a sponsored cycle ride from London (Croydon) to Amsterdam. The team will leave Croydon on 23 September, heading for Dover, and will arrive in Amsterdam on 26 September, with the team returning to Croydon on 27 September. It will cost £750 per person to participate or help the participants and all participants are required in addition to contribute at least £250 to the Worshipful Company of Constructors Charitable Trust. All applications to take part in the event must therefore pay the Worshipful Company of Constructors £750 to take part and cyclists must also raise at least £250 for Charity. A minimum of £1,000 must therefore be deposited with each registration form. Any other monies would be welcome and should be donated to the Worshipful Company of Constructors Charitable Trust. Personal donations may be eligible for Gift Aid provided the requisite form has been completed and sent to the Treasurer of the Charitable Trust. All monies sent to the Charitable Trust will be donated to The Prince’s Trust, in aid of their Built Environment Leadership Group, which works strategically with The Prince’s Trust to open talent pipelines and support young people into the Built Environment industry through employability solutions. Surplus monies (if any) from the money paid to the Company will also be donated to The Prince’s Trust.
To assist the cyclists the Company has organised the trip to ensure appropriate support, sustenance and accommodation throughout the five days of the cycle ride, and the riders will be accompanied by volunteer helpers in cars, although each participant will be taking part at their own risk.
The flyer for the event can be downloaded here, and the registration form here. It should be noted that all participants, whether cyclists or helpers, MUST REGISTER to take part, and that the Worshipful Company of Constructors can not be held responsible for the safety of any participant. The CT Gift Aid Form is available here. When completed the Gift Aid Form should be sent to Norman Brown, the treasurer of the Charitable Trust, at 56 Magnolia Dene, Hazlemere, Bucks, HP15 7QE.
If required, more details can be obtained from Senior Warden Arthur Seymour.
