Lord Mayor’s Show 2018

The Worshipful Company of Constructors was again part of this year’s Lord Mayor’s Show.  Held every year for over 800 years, this pageant was held on Saturday 10th November, and the Company paraded along with other companies in the “Modern Livery Companies” section of the parade, represented by the Master, Mike Parrett and Senior Warden, Sir Vivian Ramsey and led by Yeoman Anjali Pindoria, one of our newer and younger recruits who ably demonstrated our commitment to diversity and that there is a real place for women in construction.

The weather, despite several bouts of heavy rain both before and after the parade, was crisp, but sunny, and a good time was had by all.

The Company was also well represented by members who, as spectators, stood in front of St Mary le Bow in Cheapside to cheer our Master and Senior Warden on their way.

The parading team are depicted on the left above as they assembled on London Wall and on the right above as they passed our members on Cheapside.

After spectating on Cheapside for around two hours many of the team, including the Gallant Clerk and the Mistress, made haste for the Jugged Hare public House in Fleet Street, where they warmed up with suitable beverages and a pub meal.  They were later joined by the Master, Anjali and PMs Christine and Stephen Rigden, who joined the party having been wined and dined as part of the official party.
