DESCRIPTION:ArchiCantiores: Grinling Gibbons\, A Musical Man 1648-1721\nA Grinling Gibbons Tercentenary Festival Concert \nArchiCantiores perform words and music that Grinling Gibbons may have heard at a City of London church\, St Mary Abchurch\, which contains his carvings. \nMusical settings across 350 years include catches and broadsheets\, trios and quartets by Thomas Campion\, Henry Purcell\, George Frederick Handel\, John Hilton\, Matthew Locke\, Vaughan Richardson\, John Stainer\, and others. \nReadings and poems inspired by carvings include ‘A Linden Antiphon’ and other commissioned poems by Paul Munden and Oliver Comins\, alongside the words of Alexander Pope\, William Shakespeare\, James Shirley\, John Donne\, and John Evelyn.\nPresented by ArchiCantiores’ wordsmiths and musicians: \nBiographies: \n\nSoprano Rebecca Ryland-Jones is a singer with The Epiphoni Consort and Thomas Tallis Society\nMezzo Marion Wyllie\, Convenor for ArchiCantiores\, is a singer & music educationalist in London\nTenor Rogers Covey-Crump is an internationally celebrated soloist\, recorded & known with The Hilliard Ensemble\nBaritone Jonathan Louth\, Founder of ArchiCantiores\, is an architect and cathedral chairman\nBass Charles Gibbs\, a member of The BBC Singers\, also sings with I Fagiolini\nWordsmith Paul Munden\, an adjunct professor at University of Canberra\, is a published poet living in Yorkshire\nWordsmith Oliver Comins is a published poet living and writing in London\n\nArchiCantiores is a troupe of singers\, musicians and wordsmiths who perform words and music live to explore and support architectural heritage.  ArchiCantiores is led by Jonathan Louth\, Advisor to the Modern Legacy Project of the Grinling Gibbons Tercentenary. \nTickets: £15 .
