DESCRIPTION:  \n‘The Art of Glass’ with Rachel Mulligan \nYou are most welcome to book for this virtual event. \nRachel Mulligan will explore the links between craft\, design and art in an illustrated talk about her stained glass. As well as working to commission\, Rachel makes exhibition panels that tell stories in stained glass. Inspired by Medieval art and the changing seasons\, Rachel works and teaches from her garden studio in Surrey. Her ’Tinker Tailor’ series of Lockdown glass is currently on exhibition at the Stained Glass Museum in Ely. \nRachel Mulligan studied fine art and specialised in printmaking before discovering stained glass at an adult education class. She went on to study at Central St Martins and then at Chelsea School of Art. Since 1995 she has completed many commissions for homes across Surrey and for public buildings including Haslemere Museum\, The Cassel Hospital\, Isleworth Town Hall and Castletown Primary School. Her exhibition panels are in the collections of Godalming Museum and the Royal College of Nursing. Her series The Seven Ages of Man were exhibited at Strawberry Hill House and the Stained Glass Museum. Rachel teaches stained glass from her garden studio in Surrey. She is an Associate of the British Society of Master Glass painters and serves on their Council and she was recently admitted as a Freeman to the Worshipful Company of Glaziers. \nHow to book a place:\nRegister on Eventbrite here \n \nConfirmed attendees will subsequently receive a link to access the talk session when they have registered via Eventbrite\, with another reminder prior to the day.
