DESCRIPTION: \n  \nThe Lord Mayor’s Gresham Lecture 2020 \nThe subject of this year’s Lord Mayor’ Gresham Lecture\, which is part of the continuing Annual Lord Mayor’s Lecture series\, is “Culture\, Creativity and the Culture Mile”. \nGresham College would welcome all members of Livery Companies to attend this lecture\, which will be given in the Old Library at Guildhall\, commencing at 6pm on Thursday 9 January 2020\, and will be followed by a drinks reception.  Entrance is free\, but all attendees are required to register at https://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and-events/culture-creativity.   So that the Company may be aware of which of it’s members are attending\, we would also be grateful if you would let the organiser know the names of anyone who has registered to attend. \nThe City of London is not only a great place to do business but also has a rich and vibrant cultural offer making it a great place to live\, learn\, work and visit.  It is home to the Culture Mile\, including the Barbican\, Guildhall School of Music and Drama\, London Symphony Orchestra And Museum of London\, who are leading the animation of the whole neighbourhood with imaginative collaborations and events. \nThe lecture will highlight the significant social and economic impact of culture on the City\, London and the UK\, highlighting the connectivity between trade\, innovation and culture.  Speakers will include: \nWilliam Russell\, the Lord Mayor of the City of London\nKathryn McDowell CBE\, DL – Managing Director of the London Symphony Orchestra\nLynne Williams – Principal of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama\nSir Nicholas Kenyon CBE – Director of the Barbican Centre\nSharon Ament – Director of the Museum of London \n  \n  \n
