8th November - With great sadness to report of the passing of our former Senior Warden and lately Hon Court Assistant Emeritus

Please see below an extract copied from the Times today 8th November:

LATHAM Sir Michael Anthony died peacefully on 2nd November 2017, aged 74, Funeral at St James Church, Gretton, Northamptonshire, on Monday 20th November, at 1.30pm.

Family flowers only, but donations to Gretton Church or a dementia related charity.

Sir Michael was a very influential member of our industry most notable for “The Latham report”.

He progressed to Senior Warden of this Company, but when he was diagnosed with dementia.

He stood down and was made Hon Court Assistant Emeritus.

6th November - The opening of the annual Garden of Remembrance at St Paul's Cathedral, London

The Master is third from right

The Master Tony Ward laid his remembarnce cross, on behalf of The Company, along with other Livery Company Masters at the opening of the annual Garden of Remembrance at St Paul's Cathedral, London.

The event attended by The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor and Sheriffs.

After the service there was a Parade of Standards accompanied by a military band.

4th October 2017 - The Installation Dinner of Master Tony Ward held at Merchant Taylors` Hall.

The Master for 2017/18 Tony Ward CEng FIStructE here with his wife Mrs Jan Ward now The Mistress of The Company. Were installed in office in the splendor of Merchant Taylors` Hall there after followed the Installation Dinner.

The Master together with the New Wardens for the year ahead prepare for the Installation Dinner. Merchant Taylors` Hall had been personally chosen by The Master for his Installation and the fine menu with matched wines were especially appreciated.

Freeman Paul Hodgkinson CBE, Chairman of The Symonds Group, welcomed The Guests to our Dinner and entertained everyone at the start of the formalities.

Mr James Wates CBE, Chairman of the Wates Group & Chairman of the Prince's Trust Corporate Advisory Group here as The Masters` Guest, spoke after dinner at The Masters` invitation and posed some key questions for our industry before rounding up with some very entertaining light humor leading up to proposing the toast to The Company.

To conclude his Installation Dinner The Master stood to brief on Parish Notices , thank everyone for finding time to attend and finish the evening off with a few stories and humor which was much enjoyed by all.
