Constructors Visit Armourers Hall for Tour and Lunch

On Monday 27th June, the Constructors were invited to take a tour of the home of The Armourers & Brasiers Company. Founded in 1322, the guild has historically overseen the production of armour and has occupied this same site on the corner of Coleman Street and London Wall, since 1346.

Armourers Hall was one of the few Livery Halls to escape the Great Fire of London and the surrounding area was devastated during the blitz, but in 1940 as in 1966, the Hall survived. The current hall dates from 1839 when it was rebuilt completely and the dome of the Hall was added in 1872.

After the tour, our liverymen enjoyed an informal lunch in the historic surroundings. We would like to thank our hosts the The Armourers & Brasiers Company for their hospitality.
