Worshipful Company of Constructors Welcomes it’s New Master, Henry Lamb

The Worshipful Company of Constructors gathered on Tuesday 13th October for the installation of its new Master, Henry Lamb at St Lawrence Jewry church, followed by dinner at the Guildhall.

The service, conducted by Father James Titley is an important occasion in the Company’s calendar, bringing members and guests together to mark the conclusion of Immediate Past Master Tim Fitch’s tenure and the beginning of Master Henry Lamb’s year.

Following the service, members and guests then made their way to the Guildhall for dinner, where the evening continued with food, entertainment and an opportunity to catch up with colleagues and friends from across the industry.

The guest of honour was Barbara Welch, who is leading the restoration of Buckingham Palace, whose speech provided an opportunity to reflect on the skill and coordination involved in maintaining and restoring important historic buildings, without losing sight of modern practical considerations.

Entertainment was provided by the Silver Service Singers, who added a surprise musical element to the evening and catering was provided by The Clink Charity, a rehabilitation charity which trains people in prison and supports those at risk of reoffending to develop skills and gain qualifications.

The dinner was a very agreeable occasion, and the Company is grateful to everyone who helped make it possible. Particular thanks go to the Company’s corporate sponsors, Azad Ayub, Admiral Scaffolding Group and Edwin Coe  for their continued support.

The Company also thanks its event sponsors Walton Landscape Supplies, Intelligent Membranes, GAJ Surveys, Ambit, AFC Fire and Hamilton HVAC, whose contributions helped ensure the evening ran smoothly.

Thanks are also due to the Clerk, Father James Titley of St Lawrence Jewry, the Guildhall team, the Silver Service Singers and The Clink Charity for their contributions.

The installation and dinner provided an enjoyable opportunity to welcome the new Master, bring members and guests together, and celebrate the Worshipful Company of Constructors.
