Strengthening Bonds: The Worshipful Company of Constructors generously donates to St Lawrence Jewry
In a poignant display of tradition and charity, St Lawrence Jewry recently received a gracious donation from The Worshipful Company of Constructors, underscoring the enduring bond between livery companies and the Church.
Situated next to Guildhall, The Worshipful Company of Constructors finds its spiritual home in St Lawrence Jewry, where the esteemed Guild Vicar, Father James Titley, serves as the Company’s honorary chaplain.
Responding to Father James’ request, the Constructors’ charitable trust recently extended a helping hand to St Lawrence Jewry. The donation facilitated the acquisition of four chasubles and stoles. These sacred vestments, worn by priests during the celebration of the Eucharist, serve as tangible symbols of the Company’s generosity and commitment to its spiritual home. Additionally, a new paschal candlestick, meticulously crafted from dark stained oak to complement the church’s interior, was acquired.
Each chasuble bears the embroidered insignia of the Constructors Company, signifying their generous gift, while a plaque on the candlestick will express similar gratitude.
This charitable endeavour took place during an Evening Prayer service on March 25th, where Father James bestowed his blessings upon the donated items. Attending on behalf of the Constructors Company were Junior Warden Deborah Pullen and Past Master Vicky Russell, further cementing the Company’s dedication to both philanthropy and spiritual engagement.
As these blessed gifts find their place within the sacred space of St Lawrence Jewry, they serve as enduring reminders of the harmonious relationship between faith, charity, and community partnership.
