Master’s Weekend Portsmouth

The Master and Mistress invite you to join them for a weekend of fellowship fun and food at the historic City of Portsmouth from Friday 30th June to Sunday 2nd July 2023. 

The weekend will be based at the newly refurbished Royal Maritime Club Hotel just minutes away from the Historic Dockyard. The weekend will get underway on Friday evening with an informal dinner with wine in the Nelson Room at the Royal Maritime Club.

On Saturday morning there is a choice of visiting the Historic Dockyard where the Mary Rose and HMS Victory are just some of the attractions to be marvelled at. For those who have visited the Historic Dockyard recently there is an option to join a “walking tour” of Historic Portsmouth with an official Blue Badge Guide exploring the magic of this historic City. The afternoon will give you free time to explore the City, go shopping at the popular Gunwharf Quays Designer Shopping Centre or even have a trip to the top of the Spinnaker Tower!

On Saturday evening we have the exclusive use of the World Famous HMS Warrior 1860 the first iron clad ship of the Royal Navy for our Black Tie Gala Dinner. There will be an opportunity for a private tour of the ship followed by a drinks reception on the deck (weather permitting). We will then dine on the gun deck of the ship in the company of the Mayor of Portsmouth, the Dean of Portsmouth Cathedral and the Commanding Officer of HMS Lancaster our affiliated Ship.

On Sunday morning, those who wish to, can join us in attending the morning service at Portsmouth Cathedral where we we will be welcomed by the Dean. This will end the organised weekend but those who wish to stay on are invited to join for a Sunday lunch at their own expense.

We have managed to obtain a great room discount at the Royal Maritime Club of £127.80 per night Bed and Breakfast. Single rooms are also available. Please see all the detail on the subsidiary sheet here, to see how you will need to book directly with them.

The cost for the weekend (excluding accommodation) will be £250.00 per person.

Can you please inform the Clerk if you would like to attend, indicating which option you would like on the Saturday morning and whether you wish to stay for the Sunday lunch.
