COURT 2018

Common Hall 2018

The Worshipful Company of Constructors’ held its Common Hall at Salters’ Hall on 20 September 2018.  The meeting was attended by some 45 members (about 14% of our total membership) who received and endorsed a summary of the past year from the Master, the Honorary Treasurer and reports from the Chairs of the various executive committees.

The Gallant Clerk also reported on the recommendations for next year’s officers, which had been endorsed at the Court meeting that had preceded Common Hall.

The key recommendations for the Company Year 2018 – 2019 were:

  • Master (who had been elected to be installed at the forthcoming Installation Ceremony on 10 October) – Michael Parrett
  • Senior Warden – Sir Vivian Ramsey
  • Middle Warden – Arthur Seymour
  • Renter Warden – David Sheehan
  • Junior Warden – Terry Withers
  • Immediate Past Master – Tony Ward

The meeting was followed by a sparkling wine reception and this year, for the first time, a Livery dinner.  Some 50 people sat down to dine, and we were pleased to have both Simon Hudson and his wife, Beth, as our guests.  Simon is a stonemason at Salisbury Cathedral and had given our members an insight into what our Charitable Trust support for stonemasons had achieved at the Cathedral, which is the subject of another news post.
