Informal Networking Event (VINE)
VINE 4 took place on Thursday, 14 May 2020 and was a bumper event ‘attended’ by 30 members and guests (including a few new faces). Many of the participants are depicted on the screenshot, which shows some of the participants (and not just the pretty ones) and is limited by the Zoom technology to 25 images.
As ever, there was some banter plus serious comment on our current predicament, with members sharing their concerns about cashflow, re-starting sites, and their thoughts about opportunities as well as challenges in the “New Normal”.
The Master’s desk seemed to be less visible, despite his expressed intention to apply a ‘scorched earth’ policy to his papers – as he manfully progresses through clearing his study, whilst assessing the merits of a new matter.
It was a pleasure to see Diana Chrouch, our Diversity and Inclusion lead attend, especially as we seem to have a very diverse and eclectic forum representing a great mix of our membership – with many common goals and attitudes and a great range of disciplines (and opinions).
Stewart, our facilitator, did his best to facilitate open dialogue across the group, not always the easiest task, given the shy and retiring nature of those attending – ahem
The next event is tabled for 28th May 18-00 – 19-00; all members and guests who may be interested in our Company/company are welcome, and we encourage refreshment to be taken as we chat.
The proposed theme for discussion will be ‘Who Wants to Go Back To An Office? Who Relishes the Return To Public Transport?’, but all topics, ideas and thoughts are up for discussion, be they construction related or just points of view.
