Deborah spent her early career completing and managing research into the use of advanced materials in public, private and charitable companies. This included applications in aerospace, defence, oil&gas, motorsport and then construction. She set up and ran a national construction network for 7 years, obtaining an MBE for services to knowledge transfer and innovation in 2015. She was the Group Research Director of BRE from 2011 and then became the Exec Director of the BRE Trust in 2017.
She is now trustee of a number of charities supporting adults with learning difficulties, a museum for combined military services and also the Treasurer of the Constructors Charitable Trust. Her research into the genealogy of her family highlighted she has 5 ancestors who were members of different liveries. She joined the Constructors in 2017, became the Chair of the Scholarships & Awards Committee and joined Court in 2018.
Having Chaired the Scholarships and Awards Committee for the last five years I am really proud of the work that our award winners have achieved, extending their personal development as well as the wider industry skills base. Now as the new Junior Warden I am delighted to be able to focus my efforts on the continued success of the Company and the delivery our ambitious Five Year Strategy.
She is married to Steve and they enjoy visiting far flung places, immersing themselves in local nature and communities.
