Sir Christopher Wren Banquet
The Worshipful Company of Constructors dined at Drapers Hall for the Company’s annual Sir Christopher Wren Banquet. The eponymous Sir Christopher Wren was responsible for the reconstruction of 52 churches following the Great Fire of London, including his finest work, St Paul’s Cathedral, and has arguably had a greater impact on the City’s urban landscape than any other figure. The Constructors honour these achievements alongside this totemic figure’s wider contribution to British architecture at an annual Banquet named in his honour.
This year’s guest speaker was Murray Craig, the recently retired Clerk of the Chamberlain’s Court who delivered a memorable speech.
