Celebrating City Giving Day: The Worshipful Company of Constructors Charitable Trust’s Remarkable Achievements

London, UK – [26th September] – Today, the City of London comes alive with the spirit of philanthropy as City Giving Day takes center stage, and the Master of the Worshipful Company of Constructors, David Sheehan, shares his thoughts on this momentous occasion.

“Today we celebrate City Giving Day in the City of London. This is a great occasion for organisations and individuals to both raise money and to reflect on the work that they have done in the last year in the City of London. To this end, please see below a message from the Worshipful Company of Constructors Charitable Trust. Our Trust has done an amazing job over the last year donating your money, so a big thank you to the Trustees on behalf of us all,” said David Sheehan.

The Worshipful Company of Constructors Charitable Trust has indeed achieved remarkable milestones in the past year, demonstrating their commitment to making a positive impact in the City of London and beyond.

In the last 12 months, the Constructors’ charitable trust has given grants in excess of £50,000, marking a significant increase compared to previous years, in alignment with the trust’s current three-year strategy.

The grants provided invaluable support to various initiatives, including:

  1. Sir Ian Dixon, Climate Action, and Mansion House Scholarships: Investing in education and environmental stewardship.
  2. Academic and Other Prizes: Encouraging excellence in the industry, exemplified by ICE Teambuild.
  3. Support for Army Cadets: Enabling cadets from disadvantaged backgrounds to attend summer courses and acquire necessary equipment.
  4. Building Heroes: Empowering military veterans with skills training and support for employment in the building trades.
  5. The Lord Mayor’s Appeal: Contributing to causes close to the heart of the City.

Additionally, the trust has shown global solidarity by making significant donations to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) in response to crises in Ukraine and Syria. The trust is open to suggestions from its members, ensuring that their diverse philanthropic interests are carefully considered.

The Trustees express their heartfelt gratitude to members whose generous donations make these grants possible.
